Linda
Co-opted Governor
I have worked in education in some form for over 30 years. Most of my experience has been in secondary schools, firstly in the East Midlands and then in the North East, where I taught across the age and ability range and took on roles in Sixth Form pastoral care, Head of Department and Assistant Head with responsibility for English and Literacy. I left teaching four years ago to take up a post as a Training and Education Officer with a national charity, and now deliver training in dealing with Fuel Poverty, Fuel Debt and Energy Awareness to front line workers as well as carrying out workshops in various educational settings.
All of these experiences have reinforced my belief that every young person deserves the very best that the education system can offer, no matter what their individual needs, abilities, or barriers to learning might be. I am really pleased to be part of the team at EWD, and look forward to overcoming the challenges alongside staff, students, families and governors as the school moves forward.
Term of office – 16/09/20 – 15/09/24
